Skyservice has chosen CLICK-into and Itronix to deploy over 65 Itronix Duo
Touch Tablet PC's into its fleet of mobile intensive care jets. While used
mainly for charting solutions presently, the Itronix DuoTouch Tablet PC (EFB
Electronic Flight Bag) is quickly becoming a practical electronic library for
the aircraft, serving as the repository for the entire collection of manuals,
guides, procedures, and interactive elements comprising the Operational - Data
requirements of all flight departments": "The functionality that this
solution brings to our Itronix EFB's is further demonstration of just how far
this technology has progressed. This will add greatly to the capability and
value of going digital"
BC Campbell VP of Operations for Skyservice "after removing all the paper
manuals, maps, and operating procedures the weight of our aircraft was reduced
by 130 lbs, that's almost one passengers weight eliminated".
In addition the Pilots are now using Jeppeson Maps electronic version for
navigation procedures Flight Crews will appreciate a common front-end software
interface that is fully optimized for touch screen operation. It allows
one-touch task switching and rapid access to primary applications such as
Charting, Checklists Manuals, Video, etc while isolating the user from windows
icons and controls. All features and controls are remotely configurable by the
Fleet manager. Data updates may be initiated by the user or set as automatic
background operation for "hotspot" or cradle-sync connectivity. This
allows custom documents and subscribed manuals to be kept up to date
incrementally and automatically. This makes it easy to calculate the net
savings and ROI though increased efficiency and productivity.
